THE ASSOCIATION OF BREEDERS PAYS HOMAGE TO MR. VICTORINO MARTÍN ANDRÉS DURING THEIR GENERAL MEETING.

• The Andalusian Regional Government´s Agricultural and Livestock Production General Director laid out its support policy to the fighting bull breeding during the closure of the Breeder´s meeting.

The Fighting bull breeders association celebrated their General Meeting at the Real Venta de Antequera in Seville, where besides the approval of the 2016 accounting and the 2017 UCTL. The famous livestock farmer Victorino Martín Andrés was paid homage by the Institution and he received the Exemplary Livestock Breeder Career Award.

Furthermore the Andalusian Regional Government´s Agricultural and Livestock Production General Director, Mr. Rafael Olvera Porcel closed the venue showing the Regional Government´s support to the fighting bull´s breeding and to the breed itself.

The Fighting Bull´s Breeder Association, Mr. Carlos Nuñez spoke at the beginning of the Meeting to introduce the UCTL Report 2016 and report about the UTCL management during that tenure. In that regard, he emphasized leaning towards the UCTL Virtual Office and in the empowering of the Genetic Improvement Program of the Animal National Gemoplasm bank. Regarding the market situation, he pointed out the balance shown on the registered census within the UTCL.

On the other hand, he reviewed the relationship maintained with the state and regional governments and highlighted the challenges set by the new Board of Directors(elected in June 2016) where they highlight support to the breeders and the fighting bull as protectors of biodiversity and environment.

The UCTL treasurer, Mr. Jose Luis Iniesta detailed the economic results of 2016 and introduced the purported budget for 2017 which was unanimously approved by the board.

Next, the Family Tree Technical Manager, Mr. Juan Villalón detailed the management report regarding the Family Tree which are included in the 2016 UCTL Report (Attached).

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of the negotiations to restart exports to Perú the setup of the National Gemoplasm Bank, the Dlidia Program and also reported about projects carried out with the livestock breeders´associations.

Furthermore, the UCTL representative and Chairman in FEDELIDIA and ,Mr. Borja Domecq Solís, spoke to report about the importance of the granting of the 100% bullifighting bull indigenous breed by the Ministry of Agriculture.

Other highlights of the day were the unanimous approval of the Institution´s Statutes in which the following was discussed: admissions and approval of new breeding farms, voluntary unsubscriptions, and timeframe for the General Meeting celebration.

At the end of the Meeting, the 1 st Category breed awards were given, and the newly joined breeders were introduced to the UCTL in 2015 and 2016 and also the floor was given to representatives of foreign breeding associations who attended: Portugal, Mexico and Ecuador.

After the Meeting, the celebration, ended with an amateur veal fighting(No animals injured) iwhere the younger breeders took part within the Real Venta de Antequera facilities

On April 8 th the Fighting Bull´s Breeder Association held their Ordinary General Meeting where the Accounting results for the year 2015 and the 2016 budget were approved. The vente, took place at the Real Venta de Antequera facilities in Seville, accounted for more than 120 attendants and the Mexican ANCTL Director.

Firstly the Chairman of the Fighting Bull Breeders Association, Mr. Carlos Núñez spoke to thank everyone for their attendance, and to report about UTCL Management. In that regard, he was proud to announce the institution´s endorsement for two critical projects for bullfighting which are FEDELIDIA the Federation of Breeders Associations for promotion of Fighting Bull meat for support and spread of the fighting bull culture.

The UCTL chairman proudly spoke about managing a cohesive and modern UCTL with a board of directors that has worked towards adjusting the budget to the current situation and to carry out critical projects.

Next, the Director of the Family Tree Mr. Juan Villalón, exhibited the management report regarding the Family tree, as recorded in the UCTL 2015 report. Furthermore, the director Mr.. Borja Domecq Solís at the same time chairman of FEDELIDIA pto report about the steps taken by that insititution and its greatest achievement which was the Ministry of Agriculture “100% indigenous fighting bull meat”seal of approval.

The UCTL treasurer, Mr. José Luis Iniesta, detailed the 2015 balance results and presented the 2016 estimated budget which was unanimously approved.

Following that, the director Seguidamente, el directivo, Mr. José Javier Núñez Cervera, had the floor to report about the situation of the Fighting Bull Foundation and to introduce its general director, Mr. D. Borja Cardelús, who on one hand was grateful to the UCTL for the course of action taken by the latter because he understood is the last chance for bullfighting to survive and on the other said he reported about the actions carried out to its promotion.

Finally, the Chairman of the UCTL invited its Mexican counterpart Mr. Manuel Sesscose ot say a few words to the Meeting and in that regard the ANCTL chairman was keen in the need of working together for a joint action for and to strenghten the bonds on both continents.

After the celebration of the Meeting and within the boundaries of the bullfighting facilities located at the Real Venta de Antequera, a mock bullfight took place in which several breeders´ children participated.
