UCTL SIGNS AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ASSOCIACIÓN PORTUGUESA DE CRIADORES DE TOIROS DE LIDE WITHIN THE CONTENTS OF ITS GENERAL MEETING.
- D. Eduardo y D. Antonio Miura were awarded the UCTL award for their exemplary career as breeders in a meeting held at the Real Venta de Antequera in Seville.
The Fighting Bull breeders´union held their Extraordinary General Meeting at the Real Venta de Antequera in Seville with a representation of more than 70 livestock brands.
Within the terms of said meeting a historical cooperation agreement was signed between the En el marco de ese encuentro se firmó un convenio de colaboración histórico entre la Unión de Criadores de Toros de Lidia (UCTL) and the Asociación Portuguesa de Criadores de Toiros de Lide (APCTL) with the goal of estabilishing future alliances in regard with the protection of the fighting bull breed in the European Union. The APCTL chairman expressed the need of working together and to spread the values of environmental sustainability of the fighting bull.
Furthermore the General Meeting got the annual accounting report of 2017 and the 2018 annual budget approved and introduced the UCTL 2017 report with a more complete design for the current edition and also, the atendees were given a copy of the first dossierof the “Sustainable Fighting bull breed” published by the UCTL.
The board of directors established the “Exemplary Breeding Career Award” and in this second edition Mr.Eduardo and Mr. Antonio Miura were the awardees and they received their award from the UTCL chairman, Mr. Who highlighted the relevance of the Miura family in the history of fighting bull breeding.
The Chairman of the institution was in charge of opening the day with a statement in which he reported about the projects of interest the UTCL was working on and pointed out the need of performing an efficent management of agropecuary breeding farms.
Finally, the General Manager for Livestock and Agriculture Production, D. Rafael Olvera Porcel, adjouned the meeting reassuring a support policy to the fighting bull breeding and the UTCL projects which are further ensured by their relevance among the Rural Development plans of the Junta de Andalucía(Regional Government) (PDR 2014-2020).
For the third year in a row, the General Meeting ended with an amateur veal fighting(No animals injured) iwhere the younger breeders took part within the Real Venta de Antequera’s facilities.
